The imprinting and transmission of mentally-directed bioinformation
by Lian Sidorov
URL: http://www.emergentmind.org/sidorov_I.htm
Abstract: This paper reviews current experimental data and working models pertaining to non-local communication and proposes that there may be two complementary mechanisms involved in intent-mediated healing: one based on direct transmission (entrainment) of specialized electromagnetic frequencies, observed primarily in proximal healing (therapeutic touch, laying-on-of hands, direct waiqi); and a second one, associated with distant healing and remote viewing/diagnosis, where the target's electromagnetic profile is modulated from a distance via partial entanglement of subject-target cognitive spacetime sheets, as per Pitkanen's Topological Geometrodynamics. In addition, possible mechanisms are suggested for adjunct-mediated distant healing and for the "qi strike" phenomenon of 5-elements Qigong. Several experiments are proposed to test these hypotheses.

TGD-inspired Theory of Consciousness and Biosystems as Macroscopic Quantum Systems
by Matti PitkanenURL: http://www.emergentmind.org/pitkanen_I.htm
Abstract: In this introductory article I summarize briefly what Topological Geometrodynamics (TGD) and TGD inspired theory of consciousness are and describe the speculative picture about biosystems as macroscopic quantum systems provided by TGD. Also the applications of TGD to brain consciousness are discussed. The identification of quantum jump between quantum histories as a moment of consciousness reduces quantum measurement theory to fundamental physics. The identification of self as a subsystem able to remain unentangled in subsequent quantum jumps provides a quantum theory of observer and one can identify self also as a fundamental statistical ensemble. The notion of manysheeted spacetime allows to understand how biosystems manage to be macroscopic quantum systems. Topological field quantization implies that also classical fields have particle like aspects: these particle like aspects are crucial for the models of sensory qualia, sensory representations and long term memory as well as for the general model of control and coordination in living matter. One can fairly say that living systems have, besides the ordinary physical body, also an electromagnetic body (actually a hierarchy of them). A further generalization of the spacetime concept involves the introduction of p-adic topologies besides the real topology. p-Adic spacetime regions are identified as cognitive representations for the real regions and thus correspond to the 'mind stuff' of Descartes.
TGD-inspired Theory of Consciousness
by Matti Pitkanen
URL: http://www.emergentmind.org/pitkanen_II.htm
Abstract: TGD inspired theory of consciousness relies on two identifications. The identification of quantum jump between quantum histories as a moment of consciousness reduces quantum measurement theory to fundamental physics and solves long list of paradoxes of modern physics. The identification of self as a subsystem able to remain unentangled in subsequent quantum jumps provides a quantum theory of observer and one can identify self also as a fundamental statistical ensemble. The generalization of spacetime concept so that it allows both real and p-adic regions unable to entangle mutually is a crucial prequisite for the notion of self and p-adic spacetime regions define cognitive representations. In this article these notions are analyzed in more detail. Quantum jump between quantum histories decomposes into three parts corresponding to the unitary U process of Penrose followed by the TGD counterpart of state function reduction in turn followed by a cascade of self measurements giving rise to the TGD counterpart of state preparation. The dynamics of self measurement is determined by the so called Negentropy Maximization Principle (NMP).
Selves form a hierarchy and self experiences its subselves as mental images and is in turn a mental image of a higher level self. The experience of self is a statistical average over quantum jumps occurred after the last 'wake-up' and the theory of qualia can be formulated in terms of statistical physics. Self experiences the subselves of subself as a statistical average so that self hierarchy means also an abstraction hierarchy. Self has as its geometric correlate so called mindlike spacetime sheets of finite duration with respect to geometric time (as opposed to subjective time determined by the sequence of quantum jumps) and one can understand how psychological time and its arrow emerge. The new view about time has rather dramatic implications: the civilizations of the geometric past and future exist subjectively now so that one can speak about four-dimensional society. The paradigm of four-dimensional brain in turn provides a completely new view about long term memories. Crucial element behind all these developments is the classical non-determinism of the fundamental variational principle determining the dynamics of the spacetime surfaces.
Biosystems as Macroscopic Quantum Systems
by Matti Pitkanen
URL: http://www.emergentmind.org/pitkanen_III.htm
Abstract: In this article the still developing TGD based view about biosystems as macrosystems is summarized. The notion of manysheeted spacetime together with the notion of topological field quantization allows to understand biosystems as macroscopic quantum systems. Non-atomic spacetime sheets can have extremely low temperatures and are thus excellent candidates for the seats of various macroscopic quantum phases. Especially important macroscopic quantum phases are various ionic superconductors at the flux tubes of Earth's magnetic field having thickness of order cell size. The so called massless extremals (MEs) are TGD counterparts of light rays. MEs are ideal for both classical and quantum communication purposes, MEs give rise to quantum holograms, the lightlike vacuum currents accompanying MEs generate coherent photons; MEs act also as templates for Bose-Einstein condensates of photons and for coloured configuration space photons predicted by TGD. Also Z^0 MEs are possible and might be a crucial element of bioconrol (the synchronous firing of neurons might be induced by Z^0 ME acting as a pacemaker).
Life can be understood as a symbiosis of the hierarchy of MEs, superconducting magnetic flux tube structures and of the ordinary biomatter. MEs are at the highest level of the control hierarchy and control superconductors by inducing super currents and magnetic quantum phase transitions and by acting as Josephson junctions. The superconducting flux tube structures in turn control ordinary biomatter via ionic flow equilibrium. Magnetic quantum phase transitions allow place coding by a varying cyclotron frequency (flux tube thickness) and the models for sensory representations, long term memory, frequency imprinting and electromagnetic aspects of DNA rely on the hierarchy of magnetic laser mirrors consisting of MEs parallel to magnetic flux tubes. Spacetime sheets containing liquid crystal water provide representations for rotational, conformational and vibrational aspects of biomolecules and amplify the em fields associated magnetic mirrors providing similar representations for biomolecules. Magnetic mirrors mediate a resonant interaction between molecules having similar transition frequencies. This makes possible electromagnetic recognition mechanism which could be crucial in DNA replication, transcription of RNA into proteins and for the functioning of the immune system.
Virtual Replica of Matter in Bivacuum & Possible Mechanism of Distant Mind-Matter and Mind-Mind Interaction
by Alex Kaivarainen
URL: http://www.emergentmind.org/kaivarainen_I.htm
Abstract: The coherent physical theory of psi phenomena, like remote vision, telepathy, telekinesis, clairvoyance is absent till now due to its high complexity and multilateral character. The original mechanism of Bivacuum mediated Mind-Matter, Mind-Mind interaction and other psi effects, proposed here, is based on the following stages of my long term efforts: -New models of Bivacuum, sub-elementary particles and corpuscle-wave [C-W] duality; -New Hierarchic theory of liquids and solids; -New Hierarchic model of elementary act of consciousness; -Virtual replica (VR) of matter, including living organisms, in Bivacuum. The distant resonant [Mind-Bivacuum-Matter] and [Mind-Bivacuum-Mind] interaction, mediated by Bivacuum symmetry oscillation (BvSO), is accompanied by modulation of virtual particles/antiparticles pressure waves. The latter factor is related to modulation by 'sender (S)' the virtual replica (VR) of 'receiver (R)', representing standing virtual pressure waves (VPW). The effectiveness of [R-S] interaction and nonlocal entanglement is bigger, if the modulation frequencies and other properties of (S) and (R) are closer. The 'sender (S)': living organism in private case, may influence the properties of VR in following manner: 1) modulating the frequency/amplitude/phase of VPW by thermal molecular dynamics, radiating vibro-gravitational waves. This factor is dependent on fraction of coherent particles in system; 2) shifting the resonance conditions of [matter - bivacuum] exchange interaction, depending on frequency of [C-W] pulsation of elementary particles of (S); 3) changing bivacuum symmetry shift, resulting from difference between virtual energy densities of VR in positive and negative realms of Bivacuum; 4) changing a sum of virtual energy density of positive and negative realms of Bivacuum.
Unified Model of Bivacuum, Corpuscle-Wave Duality, Electromagnetism, Gravitation and Time
By Alex Kaivarainen
URL: http://www.emergentmind.org/kaivarainen_II.htm
Abstract: Unified Model (UM) is a next stage of our efforts for unification of vacuum, matter and fields from few ground postulates. New concept of Bivacuum is introduced, as a dynamic matrix of the Universe, composed from non mixing sub-quantum particles of the opposite energies. The mesoscopic structure of Bivacuum is presented by infinitive number of three-dimensional (3D) double cells, each cell containing a pair of correlated rotors and antirotors: V(+) and V(-) of the opposite quantized energy, virtual mass, spin, charge and magnetic moments. The matter in form of sub-elementary particles or antiparticles is a result of Bivacuum symmetry shift towards the positive or negative energy, correspondingly. Their triplets form elementary particles and antiparticles. The [corpuscle (C) - wave (W)] duality is a result of quantum beats between the 'actual' and 'complementary' (hidden) states of sub-elementary particles/antiparticles. The [C] phase represents the mass, electric and magnetic dipoles. The [W] phase exists in form of Cumulative virtual cloud (CVC) of sub-quantum particles. 'Harmonization influence' of Bivacuum on matter properties is a result of induced resonance between virtual pressure waves (VPW) of Bivacuum and [C-W] pulsation of symmetric (hidden) pairs of sub-elementary particles and antiparticles, forming electrons, positrons, quarks, etc. The Harmonization frequencies of VPW are defined by the rest mass of the electrons of three kinds of lepton generation: [e, mu, tau], as postulated in UM. The pace of time for any closed system is determined by pace of kinetic energy change of this system. The time oscillation (temporal field) is shown to be related in coherent way to oscillation of electromagnetic and gravitational fields. The quantum entanglement is explained by UM also.

Control systems, transduction arrays and psi healing: an experimental basis for human potential science by Lian Sidorov
URL: www.emergentmind.org/sidorovI2.htm
Abstract: Based on the biophysical models of Becker, Popp and Gariaev, the present paper makes the argument that the study of exceptional human abilities such as self-healing and anomalous cognition (AC) should focus on biophoton emissions and conformational changes of biomolecules under the influence of focused intent. The central hypothesis is that practices such as qigong and yoga induce long-term structural and physiological changes in the body's semiconducting liquid crystal matrix, which maintain the system in a higher-than-average state of coherence, hence optimizing energy utilization (Bigu), sensitivity (AC, tohate) and regulatory DC current feedback loops which in turn control the expression of DNA and the "tuning" of sensory transduction arrays.
A comprehensive model of non-local mental interactions (Pitkanen's TGD) is also discussed within this theoretical framework, especially with respect to biophotons as a signature of macroscopic entanglement. Finally, a number of psychophysiological experimental approaches are described as an alternative to current directions in CAM and parapsychology studies.
A model for remote mental interactions
by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/pitkanenI2a.htm
Abstract: TGD inspired theory of consciousness together with the notion of manysheeted spacetime leads to a theory of biosystems as macroscopic quantum systems. Quantum control is based on manysheeted ionic flow equilibrium: the densities of the superconducting ions control the densities of the ions at atomic spacetime sheets, and are in turn controlled by 'massless extremals' (MEs) distinguishing TGD sharply from Maxwell's electrodynamics. 'MEs' are topological field quanta of the classical radiation fields and ideal for both classical and quantum communications. The hypothesis of topological self-referentiality stating that the topological field quanta of classical fields form a symbolic representation for the system's properties (system contains in its own structure a theory about system) provides a strong interpretative tool. For instance, bound state entanglement is represented by negative energy MEs and the generation of macroscopic bound states essential for the binding of the mental images is accompanied by the liberation of the binding energy as a usable energy. Hence the ability of the system to behave as a single coherent whole and nonlocal quantum metabolism are different sides of the same coin.
MEs and magnetic flux tube structures seem to provide a royal road to the understanding of living systems as macroscopic quantum systems. The pairs formed by MEs and magnetic flux tubes define 'magnetic mirrors' serving as electromagnetic bridges between systems (not only living ones). By fractality, magnetic mirrors provide a common mechanism allowing to understand seemingly totally unrelated phenomena occurring at widely differing length scales. At molecular length scales miracle like molecular recognition mechanisms could be based on MEs serving as electromagnetic bridges between the molecules: the molecules recognizing each other would 'sing in tune' electromagnetically. In TGD framework sensory representations are realized outside brain in terms of magnetic mirrors and 'EEG MEs' are very closely related to this realization. The model of long term memories relies on magnetic mirrors: to remember what happened for a year ago is to look at a magnetic mirror at the distance of half light year. This mechanism gives rise to memories in entire hierarchy of time scales, even water memory could be conscious and realized in this manner. The transformation of p-adic ME to a real one in quantum jump provides a candidate for the transformation of intention to action and is a crucial element of remote mental interactions.
Magnetic mirrors can also serve as bridges between different brains, organisms, and also between living and nonliving systems. This provides a general mechanism for remote mental interactions like hypnosis, telepathy, remote healing, remote vision, identification phenomena, and psychokinesis. Magnetic mirrors make possible sharing of mental images and telepathy. Magnetic mirrors make also possible feedback so that the active participant (say the healer or the sender of a telepathic message) can gradually learn how to generate the desired effect. The role of the medium is to act as a relay station to which the audience and the sender of the message are connected by magnetic mirrors. The role of medium can be also taken by 'adjunct', an object owned by a healer or healee.
A model for biophotons
by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/pitkanenI2b.htm
Abstract: The model of biophotons emerged as a natural application of TGD based vision about biosystems. Simple mathematical facts about the decay of the delayed luminescence induced by an external perturbation like light signal, lead to a model in which pairs of positive and negative energy MEs transversal to and moving in opposite directions along DNA strand and it conjugate generate coherent biophotons. What is important is that a rather detailed model for how MEs and supra current circuits interact results. Most importantly, it becomes clear that negative energy MEs, perhaps the most science fictive piece of the new physics predicted by TGD, seem to be there.
The search for mind in nanoneurology: implications for psi
by Keith A. Choquette by www.emergentmind.org/choquetteI2.htm
Abstract: While materialism seems to be implied by the prevalent understanding of science, the traditional view has been called into question by new data regarding cellular microstructures and quantum coherence within these nanostructures. It has been suggested that even single cell organisms are capable of memory and sophisticated interactions with the environment. The study of such interactions has given rise to quantum biodynamics in biology suggesting new mechanisms through which organisms can respond to subtle changes in the environment, including stimuli from other organisms. Coupled with alternative versions of quantum theory that may be the basis for integrating consciousness itself into science, these recent developments clearly must be considered as a basis for understanding parapsychology.
Hierarchic model of consciousness: from molecular Bose condensation to synaptic reorganization
by Alex Kaivarainen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/kaivarainenI2.htm
Abstract: Hierarchic Model of Consciousness (HMC) presented here, is based on new Hierarchic Theory of Condensed Matter, general for liquids and solids (Kaivarainen, 1995; 2000a). In accordance to HMC, each specific kind of neuron ensembles excitation - corresponds to complex system of three-dimensional (3D) standing waves of different nature: thermal de Broglie waves (waves B), produced by anharmonic vibrations of molecules; electromagnetic (IR) waves; acoustic waves and vibro-gravitational waves (Kaivarainen, 2000b). Corresponding dynamic hologram may be responsible for large-scale quantum neurodynamics and for morphogenetic field.
In our model we consider the role of quantum collective excitations, produced by coherent translational and librational oscillations of water in the hollow core of the microtubules (MT). It is shown, that water fraction, related to librations, represent mesoscopic molecular Bose condensate (MBC) in form of coherent clusters. The dimensions of water clusters (nanometers) and frequency of their IR radiation may be enhanced by influence of rigid walls of MT. The
MBC is most ordered fraction of matter in biological cells. The increased frequency of coherent IR photons, radiated by MBC in MT, make possible the distant exchange interaction between MT of different neuron ensembles without absorption of photons by cytoplasmic water.
The Brownian effects, which influence reorientation of "tuned" MTs and increasing of probability of cavitational fluctuations in cytoplasmic water, stimulating [gel - sol] transition may be responsible for non-computational element of consciousness. Other models (Wigner, 1955 and Penrose, 1994) relate this element to wave function collapse.
The Wave, Probabilistic and Linguistic Representation of Cancer and HIV

URL: www.emergentmind.org/gariaevI2.htm
Abstract: The basic assumptions of our work include the following: 1. the genome has a capacity for quasi-consciousness so that DNA “words” produce and help in the recognition of “semantically meaningful phrases”; 2. the DNA of chromosomes control fundamental programs of life in a dual way: as chemical matrixes and as a source of wave function and holographic memory; 3. processes in the substance-wave structures of the genome can be observed and registered through the dispersion and absorption of a bipolar laser beam. The present article brings forward considerable theoretical and experimental evidence in support of this model, and discusses its practical applications with respect to cancer and HIV therapeutic strategies.
The role attention plays in building our subjective experiences

Abstract: The phenomenon of qualia is explained by considering the organ of attention as the source of
the organism’s nervous energy (a kind of energy that directs all the other kinds of energy of the
organism), and attention as the nervous energy that gives the organism the possibility of performing
actions capable of directly affecting the state of its nervous energy. The attentional activity
performed by the organism involves a variation in the state of the nervous energy: it is precisely
this variation that constitutes the phenomenal aspect of consciousness.

Abstract: Albert Einstein once remarked, "The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them." The gift of rational thinking has brought humankind to a present threshold of almost unimaginable potentiality to self-actuate or self-destruct. The self-named creature, Homo Sapiens (wise man) must now somehow find the wisdom to transform the way he thinks in order to supersede and solve the problems he has created.

The Superfluous Energy of Asymmetric Bivacuum

Abstract: The Bivacuum model is a consequence of new interpretation of Dirac's theory, pointing to equal probability of positive and negative energy. Unified Model (UM) represents our efforts for unification of vacuum, matter and fields from few ground postulates. New concept of Bivacuum is introduced, as a dynamic matrix of the Universe, composed from non mixing sub-quantum particles of the opposite energies, forming vortical structures. These structures, named Bivacuum fermions and antifermions, are presented by infinitive number of double cells-dipoles, each cell containing a pair of correlated rotors and antirotors: V(+) and V(-) of the opposite quantized energy, virtual mass, charge and magnetic moments.
The matter in form of sub-elementary fermions or antifermions is a result of double cells symmetry shift towards the positive or negative energy, correspondingly. Their triplets form elementary particles and antiparticles. The [corpuscle (C) - wave (W)] duality is a result of quantum beats between the 'actual' and 'complementary' states of sub-elementary fermions/antifermions. The [C] phase exists as a mass, electric and magnetic asymmetric dipoles. The [W] phase exists in form of Cumulative virtual cloud (CVC) of sub-quantum particles. It is shown, that Principle of least action is a consequence of introduced 'Harmonization Energy (HaE)' of asymmetric Bivacuum. The influence of HaE of Bivacuum oscillation on matter is a result of induced resonance between virtual pressure waves (VPW) of Bivacuum and [C - W] pulsation of sub-elementary particles and antiparticles, forming electrons, positrons, quarks of three generation (e, mu, tau). The system [Bivacuum + Matter] has properties of the active medium, tending to Golden mean conditions under HaE influence. The
mechanism of quantum entanglement is proposed also. The physical nature of electromagnetic and gravitational potentials of elementary particles can be related to non local equilibrium shift of infinitive number of Bivacuum fermions and Bivacuum antifermions, compensating the local symmetry shift, induced by longitudinal (z) and transversal (x) vibrations of uncompensated sub-elementary particles, with respect to (y) axis, coinciding with the axis of their rotation, responsible for the rest mass origination. The pace of time for any closed system is determined by pace of kinetic energy change of this system, related to in-phase change of electromagnetic and gravitational fields. The Unified Model is confirmed by logical coherence of many of its consequences and fairly close evaluated magnetic moment of the electron with experimental one.
Quantum Bioholography: a review of the field from 1973-2002
Richard Alan Miller, Iona Miller and Burt Webb
URL: www.emergentmind.org/MillerWebbI3a.htm
Abstract: Complex information can be encoded in EM fields, as we all know from coding and decoding of television and radio signals. Even more complex information can be encoded in holographic images. DNA acts as a holographic projector of acoustic and EM information which contains the informational quintessence of the biohologram. Only 3% of human DNA encodes the physical body. The remaining 97% of the 3 billion base pair genome contains over a million genetic structures called transposons, that have the capacity to jump from one chromosomal location to another (Kelleher, 1999). We are 99.9% alike in our genetic legacy. Our individuality is expressed in three million small variations in our cells, called single nucleotide polymorphisms.
Gene-expression is the mechanism by which new patterns are called into being (Rossi, 2000). There is also a strong correlation between modulation of the brain’s EM field and consciousness (Persinger, 1987; McFadden, 2002). The Gariaev group has discovered a wave-based genome and DNA phantom effect which strongly supports the holographic concept of reality (Miller, Webb, Dickson, 1975). This main information channel of DNA is the same for both photons and radio waves. Superposed coherent waves of different types in the cells interact to form diffraction patterns, firstly in the acoustic domain, secondly in the electromagnetic domain -- a quantum hologram -- a translation process between acoustical and optical holograms.
Creative, novel and enriching psychotherapeutic experiences can lead to neurogenesis, gene expression, and healing which facilitate mindbody communication and can have a long-term transformative effect on the whole person (Rossi, 2002). Thus, bioholography has relevant applications for optimizing health, well-being and even self-realization. It is relevant in biophysics, medicine, psychobiology, psychotherapy and the holistic healing arts. It provides us with a more genetically integrated model of the complex dynamics of the mindbody -- one arising in the domain underlying the standard genetic code triplet model.
The spectroscopy of biophotons in non-local genetic regulation

URL: www.emergentmind.org/gariaevI3.htm
Abstract: This paper describes the phenomenon of broadband radiowave radiation (RR) produced by a special optical quantum generator. It is shown that RR can be used as the basis of polarization/laser/radiowave spectroscopy of substances. The spectroscopy mechanism closely connected with inelastic scattering and photon localization in electronic systems of laser mirrors is physically and mathematically formalized. This differs from the traditional Raman effect of photons. The spectrum of inelastic scattered light is continuous and occupies the full frequency range from 0 up to 2w (w- frequency of scattering photon). The mechanism of an EPR (Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen) effect for localized photons is offered. It is shown that the existence of unique localized photons (rather than EPR-correlated photon couples) is sufficient to transmit signals instantaneously (permissive teleportation). It is shown that RR, read from DNA samples, carries morphogenetic signals. RR of DNA induces in recipient plants morphogenetic modifications and is also capable of repairing radiation-induced genetic damage in plants. It has been proposed that RR transmission from DNA to recipient plants takes place through permissive teleportation.
Scientific Validation of Planetary Consciousness
Mark Germine
URL: www.emergentmind.org/germineI3.htm
Abstract: According to the One Mind Model of quantum reality, experience or knowing mediates the determination of the classical state of the Universe. The event related potential (ERP) generated in the human brain by the wave function of an undetermined stimulus entails determination of a discrete state of the stimulus. Once determined, the state becomes real in the One Mind, and subsequent observations are predetermined. The ERPs generated by undetermined and predetermined stimuli are related by alpha desynchronization, and subtraction of these ERPs gives rise to an alpha periodic difference potential. This difference potential is highly significant in repeated trials, validating the One Mind Model. The One Mind Model is the first and only model of quantum reality to be experimentally validated. The Model explains a variety of mental phenomena, including cybernetics, intuition, creativity, and the unconscious. The unitary evolution of percept genesis is a natural consequence of Universal Consciousness, which creates a unitary reality.
Manysheeted DNA
Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PitkanenI3.htm
Abstract: The general ideas related to remote mental interactions are applied at DNA level by regarding living matter as a society of conscious selves even at the molecular level communicating telepathically by the sharing of fused mental images (entangled subselves). Homeostasis in the manysheeted spacetime relies on superconducting magnetic flux tube circuitry having plasmons (closed magnetic and Z^0 magnetic flux tubes accompanied by ions) as a basic structural element serving as templates for the self-organization of matter. Magnetic mirror systems formed by pairs of MEs (massless extremals, 'topological light rays') and magnetic flux tubes provide a universal molecular recognition mechanism working also at the molecular level. The so called scaling laws are crucial for the understanding of the interaction between ELF frequency MEs and their physical origins are considered. Also the basic ideas related to the manysheeted DNA with emphasis on holographic aspects of DNA are introduced.

The second part deals with biogenesis and neurological regeneration, and includes speculation on the origins of cancer, faith healing, psychic surgery and more technical aspects of mind-body energetics.
Quantum mechanics and free will: counter-arguments
Martin Lopez Corredoira
URL: www.emergentmind.org/corredoiraI3.htm
Abstract: Since quantum mechanics (QM) was formulated, many voices have claimed this to be the basis of free will in human beings. Basically, they argue that free will is possible because there is an ontological indeterminism in the natural laws, and that the mind is responsible for the wave function collapse of matter, which leads to a choice among the different possibilities for the body. However, I defend the opposite thesis, that free will cannot be defended in terms of QM. First, because indeterminism does not imply free will, it is merely a necessary condition but not enough to defend it. Second, because all considerations about an autonomous mind sending orders to the body is against our scientific knowledge about human beings; in particular, neither neurological nor evolutionary theory can admit dualism. The quantum theory of measurement can be interpreted without the intervention of human minds, but other fields of science cannot contemplate the mentalist scenario, so it is concluded that QM has nothing to say about the mind or free will, and its scientific explanation is more related to biology than to physics. A fatalistic or materialist view, which denies the possibility of a free will, makes much more sense in scientific terms.

Abstract: The basic objection against quantum consciousness theories is that decoherence times for macroscopic quantum states are quite too short. This argument has been put in quantitative form by Max Tegmark [1]. These counter arguments are however problematic. First of all, the notions of quantum coherence and decoherence are problematic in standard physics framework since the non-determinism of the state function reduction is in conflict with the determinism of Schrodinger equation. The intuitive idea is however that one can estimate the decoherence times as essentially lifetimes of quantum states. Secondly, the estimates for decoherence times are based on standard physics, and it is quite possible that new physics is essential for understanding living matter.
Topological Geometrodynamics (TGD) inspired theory of consciousness leads to a first principle theory of state function reduction free of the logical paradoxes, allows precise definitions for the notions of quantum coherence and decoherence, and predicts a mechanism making the lifetimes of macroscopic bound states much longer than predicted by the standard physics. The basic distinction between TGD and standard physics is quantum spin glass degeneracy, which among other things implies that quantum bound states of, say, two molecules have enormous spin glass degeneracy absent in the free state. This in turn means that the system spends much longer time in bound states than in free states and this implies much longer decoherence time than expected otherwise. The almost degenerate spin glass states differ only by their classical gravitational energy so that gravitation is indeed important.
In the p-adic context one must modify Shannon's definition of entropy by replacing the ordinary logarithm based on p-adic norm. This definition gives rise to a real valued entropy in both real and p-adic contexts if entanglement coefficients are algebraic numbers. For non-algebraic entanglement standard Shannon formula and its p-adic variant must be used and gives rise to non-negative entropy. Unlike Shannon entropy, the p-adic entropies (one for each p) can be also negative so that the entanglement entropy defines a genuine information measure whose sign tells whether the system contains information or dis-information. For the p-adic entropies Negentropy Maximization Principle tends to preserve the quantum coherence. Thus the states with algebraic entanglement can be regarded as bound states, which are not at all fragile like the states with non-algebraic entanglement are. This leads to a purely number-theoretic characterization of life: life corresponds to islands of algebraic numbers in the seas of real and p-adic continua. A more restrictive definition would be based on rational entanglement and even rational entanglement probabilities. The new views about quantum coherence and information have testable implications at the level of fundamental physics, quantum computation, biology, and consciousness.
New Hierarchic Theory of Water and its Role in Biosystems. The Quantum Psi Problem

URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/Kaivarainen14.pdf
Abstract: This paper contains a few interrelated parts. The short version of new quantum Hierarchic theory, general for solids and liquids, created by the author is presented. Condensed matter in this theory is considered as a system of 3D standing waves (collective excitations) of different nature: thermal de Broglie waves (waves B), IR photons, related to intermolecular oscillations and thermal phonons. Theory is verified by computer simulations on examples of pure water and ice, using special computer program, yielding about 300 parameters. Theory based idea of new optoacoustic device: Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP), its various configurations and applications are presented. The full version of this paper is located at http://arXiv.org/abs/physics/0102086. Good correlation between simulated parameters of water and proteins dynamic structure points to crucial role of water in biopolymers evolution. It is shown, that multi-fractional model of interfacial water structure, proposed by the author, could be responsible for some of morphogenetic field properties. Computer simulations point, that coherent water clusters could be in state of mesoscopic Bose condensation (mBC). The coherent IR radiation of such clusters is responsible for exchange interaction between distant microtubules of different neurons, as a part of elementary act of consciousness proposed. Unified model of Bivacuum, corpuscule-wave duality, electromagnetic and gravitational fields has been developed. In combination with above mentioned theories it is used for possible explanation of Quantum Psi phenomena, like mind-matter interaction, telepathy, etc. (see http://arXiv.org/abs/0207027 and http://arXiv.org/abs/physics/0103031). Entanglement and Decoherence Aspects in Remote Viewing: a Topological Geometrodynamics Approach by Lian Sidorov

Appendix: Objections against the identification of quantum brain as standard quantum computer, by Matti Pitkanen
Abstract: Topological Geometrodynamics (Pitkanen) states that p-adic mathematics can be used to assign genuine information measures to material and cognitive structures and to describe information flow between them at a topological level modeling the fundamental control mechanisms of both inert and living systems. This article explores the implications of the TGD cosmology for remote mental interactions, showing how TGD can be seen as a more powerful generalization of quantum computation. A general mechanism for remote viewing is proposed, in an attempt to account for both ideal and erroneous functioning modes and to link these to a neurophysiological and metabolic picture. Finally, a number of experimental tests and practical applications are suggested, with a special emphasis on improving the accuracy and reliability of RV data.
Biosystems as conscious holograms by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/conscholo0302.PDF
Abstract: In a nutshell, the notion of conscious hologram follows from the topological field quantization. Classical fields and matter form a Feynman diagram like structure consisting of lines representing matter (say charged particles) and bosons (say photons). In quantum-classical correspondence, the matter lines are replaced by space-time sheets representing matter (elementary particles, atoms, molecules,...), and virtual bosons are replaced by topological light rays ("massless extremals", MEs). Also magnetic flux tubes and electret-like space-time sheets dual to them are an important part of the model, and together with MEs they serve as correlates for bound state quantum entanglement.
The internal lines of the Feynman diagram are analogous to wave guides. The classical fields and coherent light propagating along these waveguides interfere at the space-time sheets representing the vertices of the Feynman diagram identifiable as the "points" of the conscious hologram. The formation of the hologram corresponds to the self-organization induced by the leakage of supra currents to smaller (say atomic) space-time sheets. The leakage is induced by the high frequency MEs propagating along low frequency MEs serving as correlates for quantum entanglement. The 3-D stereovision associated with the ordinary hologram generalizes to a stereo consciousness resulting, when the mental images associated with different "points" of the conscious hologram fuse to a single mental image. Central nervous system can be regarded as a conscious hologram of this kind.
Peter Gariaev and his group have discovered a radiowave emission from DNA induced by laser light. This finding allows an explanation in terms of a many-sheeted laser action, and a rather detailed view about how the biosystem acts as a many-sheeted laser at a wide wave-length range emerges. The notion of conscious hologram is applied to remote mental interactions and various tests are discussed.
The Unity Theory of Evolution by Stephen P. Smith, Claire C. Smith
URL: www.emergentmind.org/smith.htm
Abstract. The unity theory of evolution is presented as a paradigm of global and cosmic learning, and it is contrasted with Darwin’s view based on reproductive competition and natural selection. Key assumptions are identified in each view, with the unity theory pointing to a deeper connection among all living things, and with survival-of-the-fittest pointing to a view based on random chance and innate separation. These assumptions are looked at deeply from a metaphysical perspective, and some surprising conclusions are discovered. Our acceptance of survival-of-the-fittest, perhaps even with complementary arguments from complexity theory, was premature as deeper issues have been left unresolved that question both the nature of time and random chance. A connection is made between the dynamics of information theory and metaphysical creativity, suggesting that subjective choice cannot logically be disentangled from the splitting of time symmetry, thus further suggesting that consciousness cannot be logically separated from the greater universe or from evolution itself. It is argued that the unity theory provides a more reasonable explanation of our shared observations. Therefore, the assumptions that underlie survival-of-the-fittest are relational and are reflective of a deeper mystery.
Exit Epiphenomenalism: The Demolition of a Refuge by Titus Rivas & Hein van Dongen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/rivas-vandonge
Abstract This article examines the background, implications and merit of the position of epiphenomenalism. Most of all, the authors systematically present an analytical argument against epiphenomenalism, the argument from the justification of the assertion of the existence of consciousness. It is shown that whereas epiphenomenalists claim to know that consciousness exists, they implicitly deny the possibility of knowing consciousness, since (according to their position) consciousness cannot have any influence on our knowledge. Similarly, the authors examine and reject the position of parallelism. Parallelism implicitly states it knows of the existence of an unknowable physical world. Consequences are mentioned for philosophy and empirical science.

THEORETICAL ARTICLES
Time, Spacetime and Consciousness, by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/time0702.pdf
Abstract: This article is devoted to the TGD based view about time, space-time, and consciousness. The article begins with an updated view about the notions of many-sheeted space-time and topological field quantization taking remote metabolism as an example about the new biophysics made possible by negative energy MEs and many-sheeted space-time.
The TGD based view about time and intentionality is analyzed. The basic new result is the characterization of intentionality as a local randomness combined with long range temporal correlations realized in terms of p-adic fractal statistics involving the breakdown of the ordinary real statistics. The elegance of the model is that long range correlations reflecting intentionality reduce to p-adic continuity: very distant space-time points can be very close p-adically. This characterization allows to experimentally differentiate between intentionality and genuine randomness and determine the p-adic prime characterizing the intentional system without any model dependent assumptions. The astrophysical real size for the p-adically small space-time sheets representing intentions justifies the assumption about astrophysical sizes of the personal magnetic body and MEs meaning the most dramatic deviation between TGD based and standard view about living matter.
The TGD inspired view about time and brain is compared with the neuroscience based vision. The time delays related to passive and active aspects of consciousness discovered by Libet are shown to support the notion of magnetic body having astrophysical size. The general model for the intentional action allows to understand sensory perception, motor action, and memory as special cases of the mechanism for which the personal magnetic body is the intentional agent and motor action proceeds from long to short length and time scales. The intention represented by a p-adic ME is transformed to a negative energy ME representing the desire about the action and entangling the magnetic body with some lower level in the hierarchy. The cascade of intentions transformed to desires eventually reaches the material body and induces the desired action as a reaction in the geometric past communicated classically to the geometric future. Brain only reacts to the desires quantum communicated from the geometric future, which explains the coherence of motor action difficult to understand if brain genuinely plans and initiates the action. Also remote mental interactions are based on the same mechanism and precognition and long term memory as well as PK and retro PK can be seen as different aspects of the same phenomenon.
The model predicts four types of memories corresponding to cyclotron transitions of protons and electrons and Z0 cyclotron transitions of neutrons and neutrinos identifiable as long term sensory and motor memories (p,n) , short term sensory memories (e), and cognitive working memories (n). Some models for long term memories are discussed and only the so called time-mirror mechanism is found to be consistent with the identification of the magnetic body as experiencer. A precise realization of the time-mirror mechanism based on spin glass degeneracy is identified.
Are Memories Really Stored in the Brain? A Quantum Theoretical Non-local Model of Human Memory, by Nicholas H.E. Prince
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/NickPrince.pdf
Abstract: The possibility of a radically new mechanism to explain the functioning of human long-term memory is considered. After reviewing orthodox nodal and connectionist (internal) memory models, an alternative model is proposed. This model assumes at the outset that memories are not stored in the brain at all. Rather it is proposed that the brain operates more like an aerial rather than an internal memory storage device. The model assumes also that decoherence effects do not invalidate a quantum theoretical treatment of the brain subsystems responsible for memory recall and it is shown how memories are recovered atemporally (non locally in time) from at least the past null cone of the recipient. The cosmological consequences of the atemporal physics underpinning the model are reviewed in terms of the nature and emergence of well defined sub-atomic particles in early times following the big bang. Also it is explained how the model gives a quite natural explanation to certain reported effects such as E.S.P, psychic phenomena and reincarnation experiences.
Quantum Model of Nerve Pulse, EEG and ZEG, by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/pulse0702.pdf
Abstract: The topics of this article is the TGD inspired model of nerve pulse, EEG and ZEG (classical Z0 fields are a prediction differentiating between TGD and standard model). The basic idea is that Z0 boundary MEs for which classical fields propagate with effective phase velocity equal to the conduction velocity of nerve pulse induce also electromagnetic membrane oscillations and even nerve pulse if Z0 electric field is strong enough and of correct sign. The mysterious anesthetic action of noble gases can be seen as a direct evidence for the role of the classical Z0 force. The model explains elegantly also the strange findings challenging the notions of ionic pumps and channels.
The TGD view about the functions of membrane oscillations, nerve pulse and neural transmitters is summarized. Electromagnetic membrane oscillations induced by Z0 MEs provide a realization of the memetic code as a fundamental cognitive code. The binding of various information molecules to the corresponding receptors gives rise to neuronal qualia. Neurotransmitters could be also seen as conscious links in quantum web. The view that inhibition actually requires active energy feed and that excitation occurs automatically in the absence of the energy feed and induces entanglement with environment, is defended. This view conforms with Huxley's vision about brain as a lter inhibiting conscious experiences.
A p-adic hierarchy of superconductivities is the basic prediction of TGD inspired model of living matter. The many-sheeted model of the effective electronic superconductivity explains at quantitative level the recent findings of Hafedh Abdelmelek and his group about the reduction of the axonal resistivity in the range of physiological temperatures. The effective superconductivity might play key role in the saltation within myelin sheeted portions of the axon. The view about what happens at the microtubular level during synchronous neuronal firing relies on a many-sheeted model for sol-gel phase transitions as conscious bits and on the seesaw mechanism of remote metabolism according to which sol-gel transitions induces gel-sol transitions elsewhere in the cell and vice versa. Microtubular surfaces can be seen as analogs of cortical sensory and motor areas providing kind of conscious log files about sensory and motor history of the cell in terms of conformational transitions of tubulin dimers representing conscious bits.
In the TGD inspired model of EEG and ZEG EEG-ZEG dichotomy corresponds to sensory-motor dichotomy. EEG rhytms are induced by negative energy MEs whereas evoked and even related potentials are assumed to relate to positive energy EEG MEs responsible for classical communications of symbolic representations to magnetic body and declarative long term memories. The scaling law of homeopathy and p-adic length scale hypothesis allow to see the evolution of consciousness as the emergence of lower EEG and ZEG frequencies.
The hypothesis that EEG and ZEG resonance frequencies correspond to the universal p-adic frequencies and their sums and differences (and more general superpositions) by mutual modulation, and that each p-adic prime p approx. 2^k, k power of prime, defines a hierarchy of cognitive codons with k bits and duration given by the n-ary p-adic time scale, reduces EEG and ZEG to simple number theory. The outcome is a successful prediction for the resonance frequencies of EEG and ZEG, and one can understand the informatics of EEG and ZEG and relate them to the brain structure and function.
The findings that cyclotron frequencies in the Earth's magnetic field are in EEG range and ZEG cyclotron frequencies are in alpha band, motivate the hypothesis that p-adic frequencies correspond to cyclotron frequencies. This hypothesis allows to identify the ions responsible for various cognitive representations. The dropping of ions between magnetic flux tubes corresponding to different p-adic primes explaining the findings of Peter Gariaev explains also the modulation of p-adic frequencies by p-adic frequencies. Only the biologically most important ions are needed if one assumes that p-adically scaled versions of the Earth's magnetic field are present, and are quantized as stripe like structures characteristic for a superconductor of type I near criticality. The disappearance and appearance of EEG bands as percepts are changed lead to the view that the magnetic body is subject to intentional control by the generation of wormhole magnetic fields consisting of flux quanta with opposite time orientation and thus having a vanishing net energy.
The notion of feature introduced by Freeman to describe mesoscopic aspects of brain function is related to the memetic code but generalizes to the case of an arbitrary cognitive code. Neuronal synchronization in terms of Z0 MEs serves as a basic element in the model for how intentional action is realized at neuronal level.
Quantum Model of the Sensory Receptor, by Matti Pitkanen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/receptor0702.pdf
Abstract: In TGD framework various qualia correspond to the average increments of quantum numbers and of so called zero modes for sequences of quantum jumps. Quantum numbers could be spin, momentum, energy, electromagnetic charge, color quantum numbers (isospin and hypercharge in a constant proportion), various particle numbers, etc... In the sensory receptors the gradient of some physical quantity is transformed to average increments of appropriate quantum numbers responsible for the quale representing the gradient of the physical quantity. Spatial gradients are transformed first to temporal gradients by a process, which is essentially scanning (say saccadic motion). Temporal gradients are then transformed to non-vanishing average increments of appropriate charges per quantum jump in a long sequence of quantum jumps. The problem is to understand how this process is realized at the level of sensory receptors. In this article a model of visual receptor is constructed in order to clarify the issues involved.
Sensory perception is very active process, much like building of an artwork, and involves a continual selection between alternative percepts. If sensory representations are at the level of magnetic bodies of the sensory organs, this requires the presence of back-projection from magnetic body to brain to sensory organs. Back-projection would be a particular kind of motor action which could be based on classical communications or quantum metabolism by a feed of negative energy to some part of sensory organ which in turn feeds negative energy to higher levels of CNS.
The assumption that sensory qualia are realized at the level of sensory receptors, when combined with the requirement that the average increments of quantum numbers are non-vanishing, and perhaps even remain same for subsequent quantum jumps, poses strong constraints on the model of the sensory receptor. These constraints suggest what might be called the capacitor model of the sensory receptor. There are two reservoirs of quantum charges having total charges of equal magnitude but of opposite sign. The net charges are macroscopic in order to guarantee robustness. These reservoirs are analogous to capacitor plates, and only the second one corresponds to the sensory experienced quale unless both the quale and its conjugate are experienced simultaneously. Capacitors plates can carry several charges. When the sensory quale is generated, there is a flow of charge quanta between the quantum capacitor plates. The charge quanta are more or less constant. This requirement could be relaxed to the condition that only the average increment is constant.
The capacitor model is applied to develop a model of photoreceptors and retina and a special consideration is given to the problem how back projection might be realized. An argument relying on some simple findings about the early development of embryo leads to the working hypothesis that the back-projection from brain is classical for "skin senses" and quantal for "brain senses". "Skin sense" receptors could however entangle with environment, which could explain why galvanic skin response (GSR) acts as a correlate for subliminal remote mental interactions. This remote mental interaction usually unconscious to us would be the analog of the primary perception exhibited by plants and even by biomolecules. Both the notion of back-projection and the not so fundamental hypothesis about division to skin and brain senses are detailed enough to be testable and several tests are proposed.
New Hierarchic Theory of Water and Its Role in Biosystems. Bivacuum Mediated Time Effects, Electromagnetic, Gravitational and Mental Interactions, by Alex Kaivarainen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/Kaiv290703.pdf
Abstract: This paper contains few interrelated parts. The short version of new quantum Hierarchic theory, general for solids and liquids, created by the author is presented. Condensed matter in this theory is considered as a system of 3D standing waves (collective excitations) of different nature: thermal de Broglie waves (waves B), IR photons, related to intermolecular oscillations and thermal phonons (acoustic waves). Theory is verified by computer simulations on examples of pure water and ice, using special computer program (copyright 1997, Kaivarainen) yielding about 400 physical parameters, most of them hidden for direct experiment. The idea of new optoacoustic device with huge informational potential: Comprehensive Analyzer of Matter Properties (CAMP) with its various configurations and applications, based on Hierarchic theory is presented. The full version of this part of paper is on-line http://arXiv.org/abs/physics/0102086. Good correlation between simulated parameters of water and proteins dynamic structure points to crucial role of water in biopolymers evolution.
The idea of Infrared laser and ultrasound radiation induced cancer cells selective disintegrator, based on biophysical mechanism of cancer emergence, has been proposed. It is shown, that multi-fractional model of interfacial water structure, introduced by author, can be responsible for some of morphogenetic field properties, related to alternating water activity. Computer simulations point, that coherent water clusters could be in state of mesoscopic molecular Bose condensation (mBC) even at physiological temperatures. The coherent IR radiation of such kind of enlarged water clusters in microtubules is supposed to be responsible for exchange interaction between microtubules of distant neurons, stimulating [gel-sol] transitions in neurons bodies, their volume and shape pulsation, and synaptic reorganization. It is a part of elementary act of consciousness (quantum Mind) worked out. The principle of Audio/Video Signals Skin Transmitter, Based on our Hierarchic model of consciousness, is suggested.
The Unified Model (UM) of Bivacuum, corpuscle [C] -wave [W] duality, electromagnetic and gravitational fields has been developed. Bivacuum is considered as the infinitive continuum, formed by the mass, electric and magnetic dipoles (Bivacuum fermions). Sub-elementary particles/antiparticles are the result of stable Bivacuum fermions symmetry shift, determined by resonant energy exchange interaction with Bivacuum. The triplets of sub-elementray particles and sub-elementary antiparticles and their combinations form the elementary particles. The [C <==>W ] pulsation of sub-elementary particles are accompanied by emission - absorption of cumulative virtual clouds (CVC), formed by subquantum particles. The irreversible parts of CVC energy, determined by translational (longitudinal and transversal) contributions to kinetic energy of elementary particles, are responsible for electromagnetic and gravitational fields creation.
Perturbation of Bivacuum properties, induced by [C <==>W ] pulsation of particles, composing matter, we named Virtual Replica (VR) of matter. The massless nonlocal wave-guide (channel) between Sender [S] and Receiver [R] is formed by virtual spin waves (VirSW) of Bivacuum. The VirSWwith properties of Nambu-Goldstone collective modes, are excited by the angular moment (spin) of reversible part of CVC energy (rotational), related to the rest mass of particles. The internal magnetic field and refraction index inside the virtual wave-guide (VirWG) are bigger, than the external ones, providing spatially directed exchange of virtual photons (energy) and spin state (information) between [S] and [R]. The macroscopic entanglement between [S] and [R] is a consequence of three factors: Harmonization force (HaF) of Bivacuum, realization of Principle of least action and modulation of virtual channels between [S] and [R] by nonlocal flicker noise. This flicker noise may have the same nature, as macroscopic fluctuations, discovered by S. Shnoll (1954-2003). In accordance to our theory, this noise can be a result of interference and quantum beats between nonlocal VirSW and Virtual Pressure Waves (VPW +/-), activated in Bivacuum by [C <==>W ]pulsation of elementary particles of [Sender] (Sun) and [Receiver] (different test systems). These two kinds of virtual waves form the virtual channels between [S] and [R]. The character of macroscopic fluctuations, providing the channels-mediated interaction, is dependent on properties of Virtual Replica of [S] - (Sun, perturbed by interaction with planets of Solar system) and Virtual Replica of [R] - (test systems on the Earth, perturbed by interaction with Moon). The time-dependent macroscopic fluctuations spectrums are dependent also on the relative position of Sun [S] and test-systems [R] and on the distance between them, i.e. on the Earth rotation (local time) and position of the Earth on the elliptic orbit around the Sun (month of the year). It is because the effects of beats and interference between the virtual waves, excited by [S] and [R] in Bivacuum, ability to form standing waves, are the function of the distance between them.
It is shown, that the pace of time:
dt/t = -d (EE + EG)/( EE + EG) =
= dlnt = - dln(EE + EG)
(real and virtual) is determined by the relative variations of the electromagnetic (EE)and gravitational (EG) potentials of any closed system (real and virtual). The positive pace of virtual time, accompanied by decreasing of resulting (EE + EG), reflects the evolution/self-organization of complex VRSof Solar system, including the VREarth of the Earth. It is possible, because the complex VR has properties of active medium in state far from equilibrium. The resulting [Virtual Replica +Actual Matter and Fields] of the Universe due to possibility to self-organization and feedback reaction in system
[Matter <==>Fields <==> VirtualReplica]acquire a functions of quantum supercomputer and Superconsciousness.
In combination with our model of Quantum Mind, these ideas were used for possible explanation of Bivacuum mediated ultraweak interaction, like mind-matter interaction, telepathy, remote vision, clairvoyance, etc. (see also http://arXiv.org/abs/0207027 and http://arXiv.org/abs/physics/0103031).
The background of so called ’free energy of vacuum’ are gravitational, electric and magnetic fields, shifting the symmetry of Bivacuum fermions (the mass, electric and magnetic dipoles) and making their resulting (differential) mass and charge nonzero. As a consequence, the interaction energy of the external gravitational, electric and magnetic fields with asymmetric Bivacuum dipoles - becomes nonzero also. The overunity devices (Brown, Bearden, Naudin, Searl and other) in their simplest versions use the uncompensated superfluous energy of asymmetric Bivacuum dipoles, generated by the Earth gravitation (in some sense, this energy is like the energy of waterfall). However, similar or opposite by sign symmetry shift of Bivacuum to that, induced by the Earth gravitation, can be reached as well by strong external magnetic (Searl, Bearden et al., Naudin) or electric (Brown) fields. The antigravitation effect can be achieved by the certain superposition of artificial gravitation, induced by centripetal acceleration, magnetic field of device, containing set of rotating magnets, with gravitational field of the Earth (Searl, Roshin and Godin). Such kinds of listed effects can be used for propulsion and as a source of pure energy.

Semitrance, Language and the Development of Civilization
Matti Pitkänen
http://www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/Development.pdf
Abstract: Jaynes' book "The origin of consciousness in the breakdown of the bicameral mind" provides a highly original vision about the evolution of modern consciousness from the consciousness of the bicameral stone age man. The TGD version about the cosmology of human consciousness relies on the notion of semitrance. During semitrance parts of the brain entangle with some higher level ( say the self associated with the social group) and are in trance - therefore unconscious. The remaining parts of the brain are however conscious and receive communications from the collective consciousness via the entangled region of the brain as sensory hallucinations, emotions and thoughts. Semitrance is absolutely essential for self narrative and establishment of long term goals: without semitrance our consciousness would consist of memory fragments lasting only a few seconds: higher- level- selves tell us where we come from and where we are going.
The basic differences between Jaynes and the TGD- based version of the evolution of civilization relate to the interpretation of bicamerality and what has really happened in the evolution of the individual.
a) In the TGD framework one could see the bicameral man as a cognitive and emotional child characterized by the effective cognitive and emotional ages at which the cognitive and emotional self-organizations of her left brain hemisphere stopped in the absence of external stimuli necessary for self-organization (it would be impossible to learn to write if civilization had not discovered written language). Of course, there are several parameters differentiating modern man from the bicameral man (sensitivity for semitrance, profile of semitrance, time fraction spent in semitrance, right-left brain inhibition,...) and the identification of the bicameral individual as a cognitive and emotional child is unnecessarily strong.
b) The ability to fall into semitrance was not lost during evolution but was transformed to a new form. Not only linguistic but also sensory regions of the right brain hemisphere of bicameral man entangled with higher level selves and the communications from right to left brain hemisphere were not inhibited as they are in the brain of modern man. As the left brain hemisphere differentiated and the memetic code gradually established itself, the guiding voice of God was transformed to internal speech and emotions. Higher- level- selves began to express their will via emotions, moods, planning and long term goals.
c) The differences between the EEG of a normal person and that of a schizophrenic suggest that the fraction of time spent by the average modern man in semitrance is much shorter. A more general criterion of bicamerality might be based on the fraction of time spent in semitrance state, be it sensory, cognitive or emotional. It is plausible that thoughts (not all of course!) are communicated to modern man via left brain hemisphere. If this is indeed the case, some regions of left brain hemisphere of modern man should allow standing EEG waves.
The development of language is an absolutely essential part in the development of civilization. The syntactic structures of language emerged in parallel with the development of civilization. In TGD framework the development of language can be seen as a gradual establishment of genetic and memetic codes at a new level and the emergence of symbol function. This could be also seen as an establishment of a symbiosis between two life-forms: biological life and 'culture' having as a physical correlate electromagnetic life represented as topological quanta of em ELF fields and providing realization of the memetic code.
Semitrance mechanism provides an extremely general communication mechanism between the levels of the self hierarchy and could explain why ant nests, beehives, flocks of birds, packs of wolves, cell societies, nuclei of brain, etc.. can behave as a single organism and still consist of apparently randomly behaving individuals. Indeed, relevant biological structures (DNA double strand, double lipid layer forming cell membrane, epithelial sheets) have binary structure analogous to two brain lobes and are ideal candidates for 'bicameral' structures.
The vision about the development of civilization generalizes to cell level. p-Adic fractality plus the fact that the number of quantum jumps performed by selves is huge even at the cellular and elementary particle levels, inspires the hypothesis that various societies ranging from human civilization to cell societies and protein-DNA societies are characterized by universal asymptotic self-organization patterns. This provides important insights in to the structure of the biological self-hierarchy and its relation to the structure and functioning of the organism and also into how semitrance might allow bio-systems to control and coordinate their behavior. Cell as a protein-DNA society together with the parallel between memetic and genetic codes provides a predictive vision about how genetic code might have established itself and semitrance suggests that new kind of control and communication mechanisms based on semitrance mechanism are at work.
Genes and Memes

Abstract: In this article basic TGD-inspired ideas about the genetic code are discussed.
1. Genetic and memetic codes from the model of abstraction process
The basic numbers of the genetic code are probably not accidental. This led, more than ten years ago, to an attempt to construct a model for abstraction process reproducing the basic numbers of the genetic code. The simplest model for an abstraction process is based on a repeated formation of statements about statements starting from two basic statements. If one drops at each step of the construction the statement corresponding to the empty set in the set theoretic realization of Boolean algebra, one obtains a hierarchy allowing to understand the basic numbers of genetic code, including the number of amino-acids. What one obtains is a so-called Combinatorial Hierarchy consisting of the Mersenne numbers 2,M(1)=3, 7 ,127, 2^{127}-1,.. constructed using the rule M(n+1)=M_{M(n)}=2^{M(n)}-1. The explicitly listed ones are known to be primes. Combinatorial Hierarchy emerges from a model of abstraction process as subsequent transitions from level to meta level by forming Boolean statements about Boolean statements of level n and dropping one statement away.
The infinite hierarchy of possible genetic codes suggests the possibility of an infinite hierarchy of increasingly complex life-forms. The natural question is whether a counterpart of the genetic code could make sense for our ideas ("memes"). Combinatorial Hierarchy model for abstraction process predicts that memetic code should correspond to the level M_{127} of the hierarchy. This leads to a precise realization of the memetic code in terms of binary sequences. Codewords, counterparts of mRNA, correspond to 126-bit sequences. Also almost-127-bit code with 2^{127}-1 codons is possible.
2. Frequency and pulse representations of codes
p-Adic length scale hypothesis and identification of codes as special cases of a hierarchy of p-adic cognitive codes allows quantitative predictions. The most general assumption assigns to any prime p=about 2^k, k integer, a hierarchy of cognitive codes with codeword having a duration equal to n-ary p-adic time scale T_p(n) such that the number of bits is factor k_1 of k. Codewords could be realized either as k_1 harmonics of the fundamental frequency f_p(n)= 1/T_p(n) or as temporal sequences of bits of duration tau=T_p(n)/k_1 represented as pulses of maximal duration tau. Pulse-frequency dichotomy corresponds to dichotomies like particle-wave, nerve pulse-EEG, and talking left brain-singing right brain.
Genetic code would correspond to k=2^7-1=127 and have 6 bits (64 DNA triplets). These codewords could be realized dynamically as temporal field patterns. For genetic code primes p=about 2^k, k=6x n define candidates for the duration of the genetic code word if all factors of k are assumed to define a possible number of bits of the code word. The time scales come as powers of 8 so that they cover the entire range of biologically relevant time scales down to CP_2 length scale, and genetic code could appear as fractally scaled versions unlike memetic code and perhaps also outside the biological context. k=2x126=2x6x21=252 allows the representation of both 126-bit memetic codeword, 6-bit genetic codeword, and almost-7-bit genetic code word. For pulse representation genetic codon would have a duration of 50 ms whereas the bit would have duration of 8.3 ms so that the realization using nerve pulse patterns is in principle possible. Frequency representation would be realized as 6 first harmonics of the fundamental frequency f_1 =2^n x20 Hz, where f_1=20 Hz defines the lower end of audible frequency range and also the rate for the translation of mRNA triplets to amino-acids. 126-bit memetic code allows a representation as sequence of 21 nerve pulses of duration 2.4 ms each of them accompanied by 6-bit genetic codon realized at the microtubular level (this representation of genetic code has been suggested by Koruga).
The secondary p-adic time scale associated with M_{127} is .1 seconds and defines the duration of the almost 127-bit memetic codeword. For frequency representation is realized as 127 first harmonics of f_1=10 Hz and the duration of the bit for pulse representation is .8 ms which is shorter than the duration of nerve pulse. The duration .1 seconds of code word might be identified as the minimal duration of cortical mental images, and the so called features introduced by Walter Freeman could define pulse representation of memetic code words of 127 bits. The highest frequency in the frequency representation is 1270 Hz and could define the frequency responsible for synchronous neuronal firing known to be about 1 kHz. Various numerical coincidences suggest that language corresponds to a particular realization of memetic and genetic codes closely related to their realization at the DNA level.
3. Model for the evolution of genetic code from the symmetries of the code
TGD leads to a model for the evolution of the genetic code motivated by the observation that the genetic code possesses an exact A-G and almost exact T-C permutation symmetry with respect to the third nucleotide of the DNA triplet. This leads to the hypothesis that genetic code has evolved as a fusion of doublet and singlet codes accompanied by a small breaking of the product symmetry. The hypothesis is highly predictive, and it is possible to reproduce genetic code and its variants by this mechanism in a natural manner. The mechanism has deep implications for the models of the biochemical evolution before the genetic code: in particular a detailed model for the evolution of genetic code and pre-biotic evolution emerges.
4. Mapping memetic code to 169-bit micro-tubular code
169-bit micro-tubular code words is excellent candidate for a representation of long term memories as a temporal list of activated memes. The model for the mapping of memetic code to 169-bit microtubular code is dictated by the general ideas about realization of intentions and p-adic cognitive codes. When combined with general number theoretical arguments and physical considerations the model becomes highly unique. The prediction for the intronic representation of the memetic codon involving 9 DNA triplets as parity bits is readily testable, and also the prediction for the microtubular electric field pattern is in principle testable.
5. Genes, memes and universal language
Also static representations of the memetic code are possible and intronic DNA could provide representation of memetic codewords as sequences of 21 DNA triplets. At DNA level memes and genes should relate like computer software and hardware. In the case of language the rules producing a given linguistic expression can be seen as the high level software, main programs, whereas words can be seen as hardware-like lower level subprograms. This leads to the idea that memetic codewords define the basic program modules producing linguistic expressions by activating genes which express themselves in terms of field patterns generating nerve pulse patterns generating words or word sequences very much analogous to proteins.
Time mirror mechanism and the structure of the computer language LISP inspire a concrete model for memes as intronic programs initiated from magnetic body and calling genes as subprograms in turn calling other genes as subprograms and generating at the lowest level field patterns generating nerve pulses patterns giving rise to the motor action producing speech. Phonemes could directly correspond to DNA triplets and define the basic building blocks of language having as such no meaning. If this view is correct, the development of spoken and written language would mean basically the emergence of a higher level of intentionality, which utilizes an already existing repertoire of memes expressed in many other manners. This would in turn suggest that animals and even plants possess some kind of languages realized at cellular level, and that even inter-species communications using common memetic grammar and genetic vocabulary.

Biophysical Mechanisms of Genetic Regulation: Is There a Link to Mind-Body Healing?
Lian Sidorov and Kevin Chen
http://www.emergentmind.org/Sidorov06.htm
Abstract: Over the past several decades, pioneering biophysics work has shown that living tissues interact with electric and magnetic fields in unexpected and dramatic ways: from initial anecdotal accounts of enhanced healing under electromagnetic stimulation, research in this field has progressed to a sophisticated arsenal of investigative tools and theoretical models which include polarized light microscopy to study the liquid crystal properties of living cells and laser-excitation of DNA to induce hybridization through non-molecular information transfer. In almost all cases, the results point to a set of remarkable properties of living tissues, and in particular of genetic material: the emerging picture is that of biosystems as sources and domains of coherent electromagnetic fields, which account for practically instantaneous inter-cellular communication and a highly efficient mechanism of energy utilization, and which seem to reflect very closely the developmental and patho-physiological state of the organism. In addition, a wide spectrum of genetic mechanisms now appear to be under the influence of surrounding electromagnetic fields.
At the same time, an impressive number of studies in the areas of parapsychology and mind-body medicine converge to show that conscious intent can affect practically every single type of genetic program, as well as many physiological parameters [1]. These studies also show that such effects can be produced from great distances, and that occasionally they are accompanied by unusual energy signatures.
Is there a correlation between the effects of electromagnetic fields and those of mental intent on genetic regulation and living tissues? This paper will discuss the major experimental evidence and proposed mechanisms of these interactions, as well as the principal obstacles lying in the way of a viable, comprehensive theory. At the same time, we will attempt to formulate several preliminary hypotheses based on this evidence and to sketch some possible directions for future research in this field.

Crisis in Life Sciences. The Wave Genetics Response
P.P. Gariaev, M.J. Friedman, and E.A. Leonova- Gariaeva
http://www.emergentmind.org/gariaev06.htm
Abstract: To create an organism, two genetic programs are required. The first one is geometric, i.e. a scheme, how to design the body. The second program is in the form of a meaningful text which contains instructions and explanations how to use the first program, how to understand and build the organism. These programs exist in the form of “DNA video tapes”, which are used by the genetic apparatus, acting like a bio-computer. When the bio-computer reads these video tapes, sound and light images appear that constitute the movie program of the development of the organism. When the creation of a grown-up organism is completed, the movie ends. Then the second movie starts, which contains the instructions for maintenance of the organism for indefinitely long time. Unfortunately, the videotapes containing information about a perfectly healthy organism, get corrupted with time, errors accumulate (DNA mutations). The instructions accumulate errors and the organism gets sick, grows old and dies. It is very likely that these DNA video tapes can be renewed and corrected. With this new understanding of how our genetic apparatus works, completely new technologies for healing a person and extending a person’s life become feasible. And this is the essence of Wave genetics and its practical applications to come.
The Bioelectronic Basis for "Healing Energies: Charge and Field Effects as a Basis for Complementary Medical Techniques.
Leane E. Roffey
http://www.emergentmind.org/Roffey06.htm
Abstract: As of the time of this review over 150 studies of "healing energies" have been reported in which the energy parameters were specified and controlled. More than half demonstrate statistical significance, p < 0.05. Some researchers have measured electromagnetic (EM) signals emanating from the hands of healers which are within the same frequency range as human brain waves. There are some indications that a correlation exists between atmospheric oscillations, brain waves, and biological EM emissions. Understanding the nature of this correlation may enable us to characterize and further utilize various types of "healing energies". The paradigm for the application of these energies may develop into a basis for a variety of existing complementary medical practices. Integral portions of biological systems have been shown to be semiconducting, ferromagnetic and piezoelectric. The biosemiconductor, together with the drift of charges, ions, and radicals, may be considered as a form of "bioplasma". Bioplasma may be subject to magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) control. The EM fields emitted by trained healers may be considered as coherent, resonant biomagnetic emissions by which a less coherent EM field of the patient is "tuned" to the specific frequency and phase, and through which homeostasis can be "aligned" to induce "healing".
Outline of Biological Magnetohydrodynamics

http://www.emergentmind.org/Sedlak06.htm
Abstract: In this article, Sedlak discusses how a living organism is not only an information detector and generator, but is also a transformer of electromagnetic energy. Biological systems generate their own magnetic mediums through a process he calls "dia-par", or diamagnetic to paramagnetic transition. Sedlak proposes that the science of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) can be used to model living bioplasma. He predicts that this model can account for such phenomena as spin- waves, anabolic to catabolic transitions, and redox processes. Such low-frequency biological rhythmic activity can probably be accounted for by MHD mathematics, the proof of which he leaves to future generations.
Metasubjective Cognition Beyond the Brain: Subjective Awareness and the Location of Concepts of Consciousness
Titus Rivas
http://www.emergentmind.org/Rivas06.htm
Abstract: Consciousness has irreducible qualitative and subjective aspects that cannot be represented in a physical, purely quantitative system. This implies that an exhaustive conceptual ‘metasubjective’ representation (i.e. a representation of the defining properties of conscious experiences) in the brain as an exclusively physical system is impossible. Similarly, individual memories of conscious experiences must contain information about qualitative and subjective aspects as well, since concepts of consciousness ultimately derive from such information abstracted from episodic memories. Therefore, the stored bases from which such individual memories of conscious experiences are reconstructed must also contain elements that cannot be represented in the brain.
Both metasubjective concepts and bases of our individual memories of subjective experiences can only be stored in a personal non-physical memory linked to consciousness. There must be a personal mind or psyche that embraces consciousness, metasubjective concepts and bases of episodical memories of one’s subjective experiences.

The role attention plays in building our subjective experiences
by Giorgio Marchetti
URL: www.emergentmind.org/marchettiI2.htm
Abstract: The phenomenon of qualia is explained by considering the organ of attention as the source of
the organism’s nervous energy (a kind of energy that directs all the other kinds of energy of the
organism), and attention as the nervous energy that gives the organism the possibility of performing
actions capable of directly affecting the state of its nervous energy. The attentional activity
performed by the organism involves a variation in the state of the nervous energy: it is precisely
this variation that constitutes the phenomenal aspect of consciousness.
Meta-rational thought

Alex Kaivarainen
URL: www.emergentmind.org/SidorovII(1).htm

Matti Pitkänen
http://www.emergentmind.org/PDF_files.htm/genesandmemes.pdf

Titus Rivas
